Up Holland Football Club
The current Up Holland Football Club was formed in 2006. We had previously been a part of the Newburgh Sports club and decided to run our own show, starting in Division 2 of the Wigan & District Amateur League in season 2006 / 07. The decision to form the club was taken quite late in the summer of 2006 and we were very grateful for the co-operation of League secretary Dave Orrell in helping us organise and register in time.
Up Holland FC won the Second Division in our second season, 2007 / 08 and we have held respectable mid table finish positions since then. We have also enjoyed some good cup runs, notably a semi-final appearance in the Laithwaite Shield in 2008.
Since 2008 we have played at Blaguegate sports fields in Skelmersdale. The pitches are amongst the best in Lancashire, the new changing rooms and showers are a real treat and the fodder offered by sponsors the Railway Inn, next door, is to the same high standard.
Up Holland FC – Wigan Warriors Origin
Up Holland has a strong tradition of football in the Wigan area going back over 150 years. See this little clip from the Wigan Warriors website of how Up Holland FC helped spawn what is now the greatest Rugby League Club in the world…

International Tours
Brendan Feaney played for Up Holland FC for a couple of years, before re-locating to Toronto. Brendan had played in Holland and arranged our first 2 international tours to Holland. As a tribute to Brendan, recognising all the work he put into the tours, we have kept the tradition rolling and will be heading out on a tour of the Malaga region of Spain in May 2011. See International for more details.
Sorry about the lack of photos on the website just now. We have just launched the website and we are getting the basic detail in place first, and are searching for photos that get our best side..
